WebRTC and Enterprise Business Go Hand in Hand

As WebRTC finally reaches the level of critical mass acceptance,  the evolution and growth of this technology is changing businesses on a global scale. As we hone in on the ways WebRTC (real time communication) can effect enterprises, deriving business value and ROI is key. Read on to discover what it can  bring to the table for enterprise level businesses and in turn, the rest of the market.

In this article, much emphasis is placed on migration to the cloud and the threshold in which WebRTC has grown and changed. While it's availability on Internet Explorer and Safari is still lacking, support is increased and new projects are in the works every day. 

How does this tie in to enterprise?

Last year, we blogged about WebRTC, the browser update, and how that would affect contact centers and their customers in a positive way. If you're new to the WebRTC conversation, the basic principle is this - WebRTC enables adding real-time voice and video communications to any website without the need to download anything. Need to get a customer on a quick support call? Just send him a URL. 

As enterprise-level businesses go through digital transformations, self-service channels are replacing human operated contact centers, and sales processes are becoming streamlined by marketing automation and big data. "To make this happen, enterprises must integrate the different IT services they employ internally. The ERP system must connect to the e-commerce site, which must be integrated with the contact center, that in turn has to be accessible to the marketer."

The combination of IT and cloud migration are two huge factors within WebRTC that will change the game for enterprise. Businesses can keep their services almost entirely internal and can discover new ways to keep their business ahead of the curve.
